Peach Rose wine popsicle

What is the definition of popsicles? According to Webster’s: used for flavored and colored water frozen on a stick

Summer is my favorite season. Give me juicy peaches, sweet cantaloupe, pink watermelon, and all sorts of berries and I am happy. I also love rosé wine. I love a glass of elegant, crisp rosé of Provence, my favorite!

This wine from the South of France (we call them the Provençales), are light, dry, and made for sunny days. They pair beautifully with everything from fresh salads to sushi, to ice cream.

I made this recipe to celebrate both, my favorite season – the summer – with my favorite wine. And here you have it: the Boozy Peach Rosé Wine Popsicles are born and are here to stay!

This popsicles recipe is strictly for grown-ups. If you want the kid-friendly version, skip the wine and swap in your favorite juice. It’s easy.

✍🏻Some tips for making this recipe

  1. You can use fresh or frozen peaches. I use frozen peaches for convenience – they are packed and most often sliced or diced, ready to go. But when they are in season, use fresh fruit. This recipe works the same with either. Depending on where you live, choose the option that is most accessible and affordable for you.
  2. Strawberries, raspberries, and watermelon all pair well with rosé. You can even do a mix like a peach + strawberry rosé that is a crowd-pleaser.
  3. You can add thin slices of peach to the mold before pouring in the mixture. It looks fancy with zero effort!
  4. Serve these popsicles into a glass of Prosecco or sparkling water for a fizzy treat. Think popsicle cocktail.

FAQs for the Popsicles recipe

How long do these popsicles take to freeze?

Give them at least 2 hours to set partially, then freeze overnight for the best results. Wine takes longer to freeze than juice, so don’t rush it.

Can I use a different type of wine for this recipe?

Absolutely. Try white wine for a crisp version or sparkling rosé for a fizzier twist. Just avoid super sweet or heavily oaked wines as they don’t freeze well or taste as fresh. I only make it with my favorite rosé from Provence.

What’s the best wine-to-fruit ratio for freezing?

If you only add fruit juice to the wine, you can go with as much as 1:1 ratio. If you are only adding fruit and no fruit juice to the wine, then you need to add 2 parts fruit to 1 part wine (2:1 ratio)

How do I store the popsicles?

Once frozen, remove them from the molds and wrap each one in plastic wrap. Store in individual sealed plastic bags in the freezer for up to a month. This keeps them from sticking together or picking up freezer flavors.

How do I get popsicles out of the mold easily?

Run the mold under warm water for 5–10 seconds, then gently pull. Silicone molds usually release easily.

Can I make these popsicles kid-friendly?

Yes! Just replace the wine with white grape juice, peach nectar, or their favorite fruit juice. Still fun, still peachy.
